NKG Kala Hamburg  was founded as the Kaffee-Lagerei GmbH in 1956 in Hamburg's Freeport. As a member of the guild of warehouse specialists responsible for the care and maintenance of goods entrusted to them by merchants, the company soon became a leader in warehousing and processing of raw coffee.

Growth means caring for the past and securing the future. This principle, together with a readiness for innovation and investment, as well as foresight and willingness to take risks have always played an important role for us.

We joined the Neumann Kaffee Gruppe in 1996. As a member of this worldwide integrated and comprehensive green coffee enterprise, the company was able to expand on its position as leader and profit from the international connections and multi-facetted service concept offered by the group. As with all operational companies within the Neumann Kaffee Gruppe, NKG Kala Hamburg functions as an independent entity. Thus, we offer our services as specialists in logistics and our vast experience in handling, warehousing and processing to all players in the market on an equal basis, with the utmost in confidentiality and expertise.

We have operated a silo facility since 1974. To keep pace with the growing dominance of containers, it was expanded in 1983 and again in 1994. We changed our name to NKG Kala Hamburg , moved to our present location at Hohe-Schaar-Kamp in 2006 and built an entirely new silo facility. The silo is computer controlled and assures the utmost in speed and accuracy, with a total silo capacity of 60 000 tons.

NKG Kala Hamburg rounds out its storage possibilities with a modern warehouse with a capacity of 8 000 square metres.. An automatic palletizer and container tipper for unloading provide the finest  quality breakbulk handling.

Our added value services for green coffee include reconditioning of damaged or imperfect goods, blending and treatments to improve the flavour profile.

Despite the high degree of automation and technology employed, our staff guarantees individual and competent attention to even the smallest parcel.
